Limitation: DSim runs slower in a terminal than from the DSim Studio GUI

Problem

Running DSim interactively in a terminal, including the DSim Studio terminal, may appear slower than using the DSim Studio GUI 'Run' buttons. The execution times are equal if the output from the terminal command line is directed to a file instead.

Workaround

Direct the output of your simulation to a file instead of STDOUT.

Cause

This is simply due to the nature of executing within the infrastructure of Visual Studio Code, when the output of the application is captured for processing by the extension.
